The three main areas that Renee would like to focus on in building a Culture of Health include health communication and information dissemination, aiding in building a pipeline for future Black clinicians and community engagement. She believes that these are areas within her sphere of influence that she may be able to impact. She is relying on her educational/work experiences and personal/professional networks to make progress in these areas. Her expertise is in public health, specifically in the area of sexual and reproductive health with a special focus on marginalized communities of color. She hopes to use her experience with strategic communication and institution building to help move the needle in building a Culture of Health.

Renee is a leader grounded in the concept of connectivity. She believes that all of our fates are inextricably bound up in the fates of one another. It is for this reason that building a Culture of Health together is essential. She comes from a social justice perspective where communication and attention to detail are key. She believes it’s about asking the right questions, like: Who benefits? Who is disadvantaged? Who holds the power? Who is invited to the table and who is missing? She reflects often on her own engagement in leadership and the leadership of others as a learning experience of both what to and what not to do. She looks forward to learning and contributing to RWJF’s Culture of Health domestically and globally.
