FOCUS
Rural hospitals are the bedrock of their communities. Through my work at the Washington State Hospital Association, I partner with hospitals and communities to strengthen essential health services and build community agency.

STRATEGIC INITIATIVE: Rural Health Population Health Cased Challenge
Rural hospitals are anchors of their communities and are uniquely positioned to act as catalysts for health. However, when addressing community health, they face barriers like isolation and a lack of resources. The Rural Health Population Health Cased Challenge will take place in two phases. Phase one will require hospitals to engage their staff and community to plan a community response to a common health challenge. Phase two will bring hospitals together for a hackathon-style event in which hospitals will expand upon their response plans, share learnings, and compete for best response plan.
